Title: CACkO ROM C750 Comments and Questions (OZ)
Post by: nontrivial on March 17, 2004, 10:45:11 pm
Hello All,

I installed the latest CACkO Zaurus Qtopia ROM 1.20 on my SL-C750 and I\'m very happy with it so far. But I am running into the PIM Linux Sync issue. I experimented with OpenZaurus but it was way too unstable for my test, but syncing over WiFi was addictive. I would like to install the OZ PIM stuff and some other OZ software, but it looks like the IPK\'s are incomatable. Does anybody have any suggestions for using the OZ feed with this ROM? If so I think it would be the best of both worlds!

TIA,
James

Have you tried the KO/PI calendar? Best PIM app yet, and syncs very well.

The web page says that the next version will sync. Should I assume that the webpage needs to be updated? And I also assume it syncs  with korganizer on the desktop? The FM seems to be a little slim...

you can use the opie-PIM-Apps by using this feed:

http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/sharprom/latest/ (http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/sharprom/latest/)

as I already had my data in this format, I just installed them on the Daniela-rom and could sync with evolution and multisync.

Thanks, that\'s good enoguh for now. :-) Kids, if you try this at home, just make sure that you use SFTP and have SSH installed. At some point I will try to install the packeages needed to revert the sync stuff back to the version that is compatable with the \"old\" PIM apps. That way you could use Qtopia Desktop or the QCop option in MultiSync.
