I have loaded the two files from openzaurus.com plus the updater.sh file to the SD card and did the maintenace restart. Things seem to go as they, but the dots that indicate its doing something do not seem to ever stop. They have been going for 10 minutes now and counting.

I loaded OZ 3.3.5 onto my 5500 earlier this week. The flash process was executed from CF (not SD) in my case, and took less than five minutes, whilst the first startup took about the same length of time - not 10 minutes, anyway.
No idea why this could be - just to say it didn\'t take too long for me.

As long as they keep coming at least it\'s doing something.
I don\'t know how long it takes to install on the C machines, but 5/10min for the flash + 10min to setup the packages seems to be fair enough.

Well I am at work right now and and this thing is still going, and going and going and going .....
I have the 5600 just got it in yesterday and I have checked it does have the PXA255 cpu in it I will give it some more time as I keep forgeting about it anyway
-
Ok call me stupid but when I picked it up to look at it I pushed on the SD card, well it was clearly still doing something even after 45 minutes during the install and it crashed and was going to reboot.
I try not to be picky but this is a really really long time and I think it may even be the files I downloaded got corrupted somehow.
I will try one more time and will let all know how things go later this afternoon.

I think that the flash only works with a CF card, and it MUST be formatted FAT32 and must have the \"zImage\" and \"initrd.bin\" files, with those names, in the root directory.
I don\'t know about any \"updater.sh\" - what is that?

Oops, I meant the CF card must be formatted as a FAT-16 partition.

I have never flashed with my sd-card (I\'ve always used cf-card)but that seems like a long time?
Are you using the poodle feed and OZ updater.sh from the same feed?

You can update grom the SD with the 5600

I\'m aware of that, I\'ve just never tried it that way.
So are you using the proper updater.sh from the oz feed and do you have your sd-card formatted v-fat (fat-16)?

Well I am going back to the sharp rom for now, I just have no time at work to deal with it not sure the fomrat of the card as I have not fomated it since I bought the card.
I was not aware of an updater.sh in the the oz feed, but I will check that later tonight.

Well hopefully we can comeup with a howto for other 5600 users that would like to try OZ, I have used it on a 5500 I had owned and really liked it and would like to use it again.

OK thanks to tumnus in this thread I was able to locate the correct updater.sh for the 5600 http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...viewtopic&t=498 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=498) while it still takes a little while its nothing like what I was going through this morning.

Here\'s the install guide on a wiki that\'s under construction by volunteers, so there\'s errors at the top and bottom of page but the 5600 guide is correct.

Thanks I was able to get both 3.3.5 and the 3.3.6 pre 1 insalled, though both had a problem of the task bar disappearing and I was not able to get to the CLI but I will be checking out this one later this evening http://openzaurus.org/unofficial/experimen...tal/poodle/2.0/ (http://openzaurus.org/unofficial/experimental/poodle/2.0/) I will be bookmarking that page though.
