Post by: tukasa on May 28, 2009, 01:00:29 pm
hey guys~
recently i found a device called SmartQ5 or Q7 MID very interesting ~

Q5 is a device having 4.3in. screen with 800x480 resoultion.
it use Samsung arm11 667MHz CPU with 128MB ram
it equipment with WiFi 802.11b/g, bluetooth and a SD card slot

Q7 is a device with same hardware as Q5 except the  7in. screen and no bluetooth.

same as z, they has usb host and tested with working mouse, keyboard and flash drives~

it originally comes with a modified ubuntu
i found that someone already ported several os into the device, debian, wince, mer and android !!!
the most important things is it is much cheaper than z

it looks like an interesting alternative to the nokia tablet 770 or 800, but without a keyboard it's no zaurus killer, but we can hope that someone like smartQ will see the light!

I ordered a few SmartQ 5s with android.  I have one for myself and one for my wife, and I pre-sold a couple. I'm really looking forward to this gadget.  I love my C1000, but its been a frustrating experience sometimes, and I'm hoping that already having support for three major distributions (android, mer and ubuntu) will lead to a user experience that is a little less tweaking and a little more fun.

BTW,  One of the guys backed out and I'll have an extra one when they arrive tomorrow.  PM me if you are interested.
