How can I set the system to *not* go into suspend ?
-
I use Ctl-Alt-BS (Calendar-Address-BS) to leave X, that\'s what I use
for compiling from remote.

yes but outside X the ESC character isnt working

can anybody tell me *how to suspend* the Z when the X server is started as non root user ?
the button at the back of the Z doesn\'t do anything (regardless if the x server was started as root or not)
and the suspend-menu-entry only shutsoff the screen but does not suspend....
any ideas ?

ok, in the meantime i figured out what the problem was....
after setting the suid-bit for apm and apm.x (don\'t know which one is realy needed)
my Z also suspends in \"user\" mode.
even it\'s the best rom to me sofar, it seems that it still hase some problems if X is not run as user
-
do you need to run it as a non root user? I mean this is a PDA, not a business worksation. a lot of the major stuff is still write protected.

]do you need to run it as a non root user
strictly speaking... no
well, it\'s just my habit to work as non root user and it\'s my \"insurance\" against my stupidity when calling rm-rf *

yes, thats right, but it\'s still a linux os which does provide the multi-user functionality....
in case anyone is interested: sofar i had to suid
X, xload, xterm
/dev/tmp (needed for sylpheed)
apm and apm.x
busybox
let\'s see whats next

Coming out of suspend, my clock does not update for 5 mins. Is this normal ?
-
I notice my time is not always accurate on the pdaXrom ...
I just don\'t depent on it too much -- but it is annoying to
get the warnings about time/date stamps being in the future,
when installing recent ipks...
