Title: OPIE SDK, OE and open zaurus
Post by: Anonymous on March 19, 2004, 03:21:47 pm
I use the openzaurus ROM. I was wanting to program applications that I can use on it in C++. I\'ve noticed there is an opie sdk. Can I use this with OZ? Can I use this with OE? I\'m kind of new to the whole thing and wanting to check before I try to install it.

THanks

Just wondering because there doesnt seem to be much documentation on the subject. What is on the subject is for zaurus programming on the SHARP ROM and seems to be outdated

I\'m curious too.  Is Lardman or Black Cardinal around?

I think someone on these boards was talking about starting some documents for OE. Could be wrong though...

Hi all,

Sorry, I don\'t know for sure (I do my development for the stock Sharp ROMs), but since OZ uses Opie I expect the Opie SDK would be what to use for developing Opie-based OZ apps.

I think the SDK is just for Opie, so it would probably work with OE, but I don\'t much about Open Embedded, so I can\'t say for sure.  You peaked my curiousity, so I did some looking around handhelds.org and this message board, but it\'s not real clear to me what the status of OE is yet.

Cheers,

The OOO newsletters @ http://openzaurus.org/newsletters (http://openzaurus.org/newsletters) explain the differences between Opie, OE and OZ.
