Title: It\'s in the mail (I hope)
Post by: drydiggins on March 20, 2004, 05:09:45 pm
I bought an SL5600 (with the cf camera) from auctionguy100 on EBay last Wednesday evening.  Put the cashier\'s check in the mail on Thursday.  This will replace a USR(!) Palm Pilot I have had since \'97.  I have been watching prices for a year I guess.  When it dropped below $300, I started paying more attention.  Long story short, when you figure in fiddle factor I probably paid Amazon price.
I\'ll probably leave the innards alone for a little while at least.
First thing is to get my Lotus Notes calendar synced with the PDA.  I understand that Notessync isn\'t there yet for the 5600.  What the heck is the \"DTK\" format and why did that replace XML?

Thanks!

It\'s actually called \"DTM\" (for DaTa Manager) and it\'s a binary format for storing the PIM application data.  I think it replaced XML because of the overhead involved in using XML (larger data files, slower access).  I thought I remember a library available for accessing DTM files, but of course I can\'t find it right now when I\'m looking!

I did find header files and documentation here:
