My Z C-860 - driven by the Cacko Qtopia 1.20 rom - always reboots each time I open the device and press the \"poer\" button. Who has had the same experience before? How can I prevent this?
Thanks in anticipation,
Chroafjd :?:

If it\'s anything like the pdaXrom then you have to use the home/on button instead of the one on the outside.
Just a guess though.

That\'s the one I use. One way to resolve the problem I guess is to re-install the ROM. But I can\'t keep doing that every time this problem occurs. In fact, I\'ve got a backup of my system configuration where that problem doesn\'t occur. Unfortunately the InfraRed functionality doesn\'t work on the latter.

Found out what was causing the machine to constantly reboot. A doggy third-party keyhelper configuration. Once I uninstalled the said keyhelper program things work fine.

that\'s bad. I have a lot of automatic reboots too (boys, it seems WinCE!), but I need KeyHelper, since I usually write in Italian and I need accented letters.

It\'s only Qtopia that is crashing. The problem is that Qtopia 1.5 runs all the plugins (like applets and input methods) under the same process as the main Qtopia process, so if a plugin crashes then it crashes the whole Qtopia process.
I think Trolltech improved this in Qtopia 1.7 which runs the plugins under a separate process, so if Sharp moved to 1.7 then it would be a lot more stable.

It reminds me of older windows boxes :-(

The issue with the automatic reboot of my C860 has been resolved by me installingthe keyhelper applet on the flash memory rather than on the CF card. Can confirm that the Cacko Qtopia 1.20 rom runs stable with the keyhelper as long as it\'s installed in the right place.

unfortunately I still have everything on the flash memory - this does not seem to be my own issue
ciao, .mau.

I get sporadic restarts about once a day with the Cacko 1.20 - it is only Qtopia crashing, not a reboot. I get sideways text messages followed by a blank white screen and eventually the time confirmation screen. The message (sideways) is very hard to read but I believe refers to \"dhcpcd\" with an error code if that is helpful to anyone
Its mainly a minor nuisance but has persisted from the earlier Cacko release to this one.
