After consulting with QTopia, I downloaded their product for Windows, installed it on Windows-98, managed to get the drivers from the Z-860 CD ROM.
Everything seemed to work fine until I got the message, Please change USB IP Address on PDA to 192.168.130.201.
First, is that something I really want to do?
Second, how do I do it? I can see in the PC Link application that the current IP Address is, 192.168.129.201, but it is greyed out and I can\'t see any way to change it. Is there a command line tool to change the IP Address?
Thanks!

Click on PC-Link on the Settings Menu, select TCP/IP (advanced) then enter your ip address.
If you cant change the ip address then you are in usb storage or usb io mode

I get an error message \"AlertUSB\" and cannot save the change. If I unplug the USB cable, thesave will change, but the connection still does not work. If I re-start Windows, I get a message from QTopia saying to change the IP address on the PDA to xxx.xxx.xxN.xxx, where N is incremented one number higher than the current IP address in the Zaurus.
I\'ve checked everything I can think of on the Windows side. System says that the drivers work fine. (Though, there are five USB connections including the one created when I installed the drivers, and only two USB ports on the machine; I\'ve tried both physical ports without success.)
Any ideas?
Thanks!

The \"AlertUSB\" will always occur if you attempt to change usb network/storage with the cable plugged in.
THe settings for Qtopia Desktop (the one from the CD) must match exactly those of your Zaurus if the sync is to work. If you have downloaded another version of qtopia desktop then it probably will never work as Sharp changed the data format of their PIMs and is only compatible with th version on the CD

Thanks. I can\'t find QTopia on the CD. All the \"applications\" folders appear to be empty, or unreadable by Windows Explorer. I can see them in Linux, but they don\'t seem to have anything that looks like QTopia.
I downloaded the Qtopia I\'m trying now from the Sharp Web site, so shouldn\'t it be compantible?
It is for the Z-5500, but I thought it would work with the Z-860, no?
