Hi,
I have had a 750 for just a few days and would like to reset it to factory sharp install. Do I need to get an ospack like for the 5500, or will a battery removal and replacment simply restore it to the original state? I do have Sd and CF cards if necessary.
I am very keen on trying other roms but firstly, want to feel comfortable in restoring it to the original sharp.
Many thanks, this site is SO helpful.
Regards
Mark

Unfortunately that is not available. Instead of providing you with a sane and failure-proof method to update and recover your device, Sharp only provides a chuky NAND-backup and forces you to enter the service menu which is full of traps

Lickey, Is the NAND backup available on a sharp site or is it part of the reboot with the service menu?
Thanks,
Mark

I was doing some research, and it looks like there\'s some free jtag software out there (openwince.sourceforge.net/jtag), with links to schematics to build a parallel-port jtag interface. Do the Zaurus\'s have a standard jtag connecter on them? Also, is the NAND backup usable with a standard jtag programmer?

You can find the original NAND backups on conics\' website (see the bottom of the page):
http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-.../service-menus/ (http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-c700/service-menus/)
Actually, you can build your own NAND backup file, just follow instructions on this website:
http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/spforum/index...hp?showtopic=34 (http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/spforum/index.php?showtopic=34)
although as stated above, both operations involve getting into the service menu which is by its nature not totaly safe.
But if you\'re careful enough, you shouldn\'t have any trouble.
