Hi All,
Has anyone gotten the new SDG VNC server working with the 6000? I have it running, I can see the screen on my VNC Client (TightVNC on linux) but it won\'t accept any mouse clicks.
I see the \"calibration\" square in the upper left corner and click on it (many times) but still no mouse click actions.
Any sucesses out there? What did you do to get it to work?
TIA

I think you forgot to reboot your Z.

Nope, did that as well. Although being an old linux guy, I don\'t see why the Z needs rebooting as there are very few reasons to reboot a linux box.
Is the 0.95 VNC server working on your 860?

The reboot sets up the vnc and the digitizer or screen. It works fine on my zaurus for the new apps. Old apps show a double screen and do not allow inputs.

First, let me say, a Reboot did getting working. To be precise,
1) start vnc server
2) reboot
3) restart vnc server
But I would still like to know just what vnc server is doing that requires a reboot.
Thanks to all for the suggestions,

It doesn\'t need to be rebooted, but it\'s easier saying that than explaining to some people that you have to run /etc/rc.d/init.d/fbvncinput (Which doesn\'t have stop or restart)
When /usr/local/bin/tssimd is launched by that init script or manually it looks for the existance of /etc/tssim_cal.conf, which stores the VNC touchscreen calibration. If it exists it does nothing, but if it does not exist it takes the next two screen taps as the VNC calibration taps and creates /etc/tssim_cal.conf.

By the way after rebooting with the new vnc server I now get messages that kdbsim not compiled properly. Are any of you seeing this after a reboot.

I get this on my 5600, never had a problem so I don\'t think it\'s an issue.

I swapped some messages with Todd Blumer at SDG Systems because I\'m reviewing the 6000 for bargainPDA. He listed the VNC server as one of the things they\'ve updated and tested with the device. Others were barcode reader and Sprint something-or-other - sorry I\'m away from my machine and can\'t be more specific.
Anyway, based on this, it should work... Check you\'re not using the VNC server in \"view only\" mode, which would behave exactly as you described. You may need to reboot after changing the settings but I don\'t think so. I\'ll test the SL-6000 with this later.
I\'ve tested a few other things (SafeDee and some tkc stuff) and I\'ll write it all up in the review.

I just downloaded the SL-6000 server and tested it; it is working fine for me, but I notice that it doesn\'t include the config tool which is on the 5600 version (i.e., you get TWO icons on a 5600, where there\'s only one on the 6000).
I had the same problem as you with the screen though, even after a reboot, and I installed the 5600 version, used the config tool to select the settings, then I rebooted again and it worked. I can\'t be 100% sure but I think using the 5600 package to set the config was important.
Can any readers tell me how to factory-reset the SL-6000? I can\'t find a reset button! Dumb question, I suspect. Thanks though.
Regards, Ian.

reset then hold power and ok button a screen will appear choose format. After doing this several times a day to get my digitizer working I decided $700 was a bit expensive for a test product and sent my z back.
