Odd, most other no letter/number symbols work.
All other SSID fields I have encountered allow these
symbols.
Wrote Sharp... no response yet.
Thanks for any input -Dave

I don\'t recall what values are valid for SSIDs, but I do know that the Network Setup Applet has trouble with some chars, such as space.
To work around the problem, put anything in the field, then use an editor such as vi (you may need to su first to obtain write permission) to edit the file /home/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts. Put the correct SSID value in the \"DesiredSSID\" string.

Thanks, workaround works.
Of course it seems the applet does not read this value when you \"edit\" the entry in the applet
but instead reflects the last value typed in then overwrites /home/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts
when you exit the applet.
Hopefully we can get the source from Sharp soon... I can\'t belive this would be complicated
to fix.
