Just curious how many 5000 users are still out there and what roms you are using as well as CF/SD cards for space. Thanks!

I\'m an active 5000D user. In fact I have two of those babies that I picked up at the JavaOne Conference last year.
One has the cacko rom which rocks, makes my 5000d usable with /home on SD. Haven\'t had any problems running any apps so far.
The other has OZ on SD and it works but with hiccups. My wife uses it for basic address/today/mp3 etc. so it works fine.

REC : I have been a 5000D user since the time they came out (way before the 5500 was launched).
Its been as steady as a rock to me.
Have used Paul Flinders / CROW / Cacko rom\'s on it with /home on SD whcih makes the 5000D really usable in real life.
Lately have been giving tkcROM a try (with /home on sd).
Have both 120 mb SD and 64MN CF card (Sandisk).

I\'ve got two, too. One has the tkcROM (with /home on SD) and the other has the gcc 3 build of OZ on it with (most) packages installed to SD.
I also like the Cacko qtopia 1.6 ROM (particularly the support for ttf fonts) so I could really do with a 3rd one 8^) (but mostly I really want one of the clamshell Zaurii).

I\'ve one with the OZ ROM.
CF Wi-Fi card, and modem with one 128 SD and a 128 CF. I like the OZ ROM but I will be trying others until I can use my modem reliably.
I\'m a happy camper but I wish I had gone with the 5500 if for nothing else but the extra built in space. But I feel like I got a rookie baseball card with my 5000.

I own two also. One I got from Sharp at the Sharp developer symposium, and the other I got from my present employer (before I was employed by them) from the Trolltech developer contest.
It\'s really too bad Sharp stopped caring about the 5000d, as it is the developers version, and many developers have them.
Mine always has various systems on it, either sharp/cacko/tkc/openzaurus or whatever...
