Title: HELP
Post by: jabbath on April 13, 2004, 12:06:22 pm
Hi!
I recently flashed my C760 with Cacko Qtopia \"Elena\" 1.21.

1. WOW! Thanks for the ROM! Where do I get Information on how to create my own ROM? Are there Howtos / Could anybody tell me?

2. I tried to use Petitepeinture with pressure sensitivity, but it doesn\'t work. (I think, the brushsize has to increase with more pressure) - I marked the menupoint \"sync pen width\" and added \"min mid and max\" values.
I also did \"su -c \'echo 1 ] /proc/tspressure\'\" :-/

3.Is it safe to overclock my zaurus to 471MHz?

grusz, jabbath

I would stop by this link http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php...Wiki&file=index (http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index) you can get to this from the main page and vist the link Zaurus howtos.  This should at the very least give you some info to get you started.

Thanks for the reply, but at the HOWTOS-Page there aren\'t any ROM-HowTos. There aren\'t any PressureSensitivity HowTos either. After a bit of googling i already found the petitepeinture-homepage. But I did it right (su -c \'echo 1]/proc/tspressure\'). I thought, maybe anybody had tested \"Petitepeinture\". My third (not really a problem) point is the overclocking. Is it safe to overclock my zaurus to 471 MHz or is he getting too hot?

PS: I am not searching for some hints to get started, because I already have started.

Thanks, jabbath

If you\'re just looking for some more raw CPU power, you can try overclocking. However, you can install sukoshi kernel as well, it will give you better performance without overclokcing... and, at the end, you can do both sukoshi and overclocking... ;-) I\'m pretty new with Zaurus, and don\'t take my word, but 471 HMz shouldn\'t be too heavy burden for the machine... Cacko ROM provides that value as the top overclocking value, so it should be safe...

Yep, tspressure does work.

I have it working with the 1.3 beta (look at the Japanese page for the download) but what isn't stated, and you need to translate the Japanese page to find this out, is that you probably need to calibrate the application against the values that the touch screen is sending out.

If you open up the menu and select Other->Pen Pressure... then you can input values for min. mid. and max. The page suggests values of 100, 200 and 220, however, I ended up with values radically different on my SL-C860 so it may be model specific or specific to the values being pumped out by the version of the touch screen driver.

Version 1.3 does, however, provide a means to calibrate the pen pressure. If you bring up this dialog and stroke the stylus in the white area at the top of the dialog it will pump in some sensible values into the min, mid and max entries. I don't know if this option is available in the stable 1.02 software because I had moved on at that stage to the later version to try to get it to work.

Hope this helps...
