Title: Knoppix and C860
Post by: padishah_emperor on April 17, 2004, 12:31:42 am
I have a Debian, courtesey of a Knoppix HD install, does anyone know of a good tutorial on getting usbnet working to connect to a C860?

insmod usbnet gives:

Using /lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o
/lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o: /lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o: unresolved symbol crc32_le
/lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o: /lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o: unresolved symbol generic_mii_ioctl
/lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o: /lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs/kernel/drivers/usb/usbnet.o: unresolved symbol bitreverse

I\'m stuck, have never seen this problem before on SuSE or Fedora Core. Perhaps I could get a new usbnet via an apt-get repository?

Does anyone have a compiled usbnet.o for Debian?

To compile it myself, I need the Kernel source, too much to download!
(Unless if the kernel source is on the Knoppix CD, but I cannot find it)

Use modprobe instead of insmod and it should work.
usbnet depends on mii and crc32.
