Anyone still alive here? I got my zaurus back out and I finally got wpa working on cacko 1.23 lite on my SL-C3000 so it will hopefully have some new utility. I can't believe that zaurus has less attention and support these days than my 25 year old Atari computers

Hi,
I still take a look around here every so often......
Think the most active place here the past year or so is in the OpenBSD forum section as it is the only OS that is still being updated for the Zaurus......

I have WPA working in Cacko 1.23
I attached an archived copy of tyrannozaurus HowTo for Zaurus. "WPA-Cacko@tyrannozaurus.htm"
It is an htm file with a folder of the pics shown in the HowTo.
Scroll about 1/3 of the way down and Antikx describes how to get WPA working in Cacko 1.23
Here's a quote from tyrannozaurus "However the built in GUI only sets up WEP connections. With minor configuration of some files we can connect to wireless networks with WPA-PSK authentication."
He mentions that WPA is already included in Cacko, and shows you which file you need to edit to enable WPA
I have done this more than once and it works for me. I haven't read it recently, but it is a good Zaurus HowTo.
BTW, some of the links to files may still be active, but I doubt many of them are...

I check back every so often. Like ArchiMark said, OpenBSD is the most active.

Hey you guys are very welcome. I have saved a whole lot of Zaurus stuff from all the way back to the year 2005.
I still have both my SL-C3100 and SL-C3200
I'm trying the later ubuntu ArchiMark. I'll post in that thread as well.

I thought the Zaurus scene was dead. I guess I was wrong !
Sorry, but I did not check this forum for ages.
If you are interested, I have a working 3.11.3 linux kernel for C3100 (borzoi),
Very happy to share kernel source, patches, binary & kernel config if anyone is interested.
Let's keep the Zaurii alive !

Yes we are still here

Thanks sdjf and ArchiMark for the heads up on archlinuxarm.org! (Note: me and a couple of other users had an ongoing discussion about oesf in a private thread on archlinuxarm.org)... I have checked and I have received no message from anyone about the forum being again online: neither from offroadgeek, dangerz (Roy) nor for the ticket on ibiblio.org. I believe it was offroad though, he's apparently the only admin to have the account's password on ibiblio, and I don't think that the ibiblio guys would fix themselves the forum, they only provide help regarding any hosting issue. If so, and you are reading these lines, thank you offroad! Well, it's such a relief that everything is back online now! I'll now ask to close the ticket on ibiblio, and notify dangerz.
Tonight I'll try to make a complete mirror of the forum with httrack, including all the attachments, so that we have a backup, just in case. So far we only have speculatrix' mirror from 2007, which doesn't include attachments, and it is also only available via archive.org: https://web.archive.org/web/20071023031052/...flinerecent.rar (https://web.archive.org/web/20071023031052/http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/files/oesfarchive/oesfofflinerecent.rar)
BTW: check the forum's main page in the next days, offroad might post an update there: https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?act=home (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?act=home) You can access to it by clicking on the "OESF Portal" link at the top left corner.

Thanks Varti!
I am not so sure it is okay to close the trouble ticket at ibiblio. I have tried, without success, to add my two cents to that trouble ticket. As offroadgeek mentioned in his 2010 post about oesf coming back online back then, zaurususergroup.org and elsix.org are part of the package. I have not checked ZUG, but can say for sure that we are still denied access to elsix.org, and that is an essential part of oesf...how else do we find out about software, all in one place?
And the wiki issue still needs to be worked on, although that is an independent topic, and I will add to the subforum here about that. It is just as essential as elsix.org, but we need someone who is willing to restore it - if not as an active wiki, at least as a static image of it's last state, because where else can we find how-to's about embedded linux? Those pages are classic...
It is possible that elsix.org is getting worked on, but with no update from offroadgeek, no way to know for sure.

The ticket on ibiblio was opened only for a single reason: to ask them to get a new account access, or at least to get a copy of the forum's database. It was a last-ditch effort in order to try to put this forum back online, since no one has managed to get in touch with offroadgeek. Now that the forum is back online, I believe that offroad might be available to discuss about the future of the remaining OESF services, and/or about the administration of OESF. I hope that he'll post some info here sooner or later about all this.
Regarding elsix, dz was in charge to maintain it, see: https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25991 (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25991)
IMHO, before we start talking about putting it back online, we'd have to first find someone willing to fix both the PHP code and the data (links etc.). This person should first get in touch with dz, then eventually talk with ibiblio _if_ there's any issue from their side.
About zaurususergroup.org, I'm not sure if it would be useful to keep it, given that there are now so few of us. I don't know what was offroad thinking to do with it, I guess that oesf.org was meant to replace zaurususergroup.org, but the domain name is still being kept...

I agree about the wiki, it should be kept, but again this seems to be a software issue: https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=34382 (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=34382)
