I find it interesting that the GPD Pocket can come with Windows or Ubuntu.

Having been burned by buying a Baytrail device, which can't run Linux without crashing, even with custom kernels, I'm a little nervous about whether CherryTrail fixes the bugs in the SoC design.

I have found an interesting post on Dingoonity: it refers to a post from another forum, it's a bit difficult to read since it has been machine translated from Chinese, anyway it seems as their primary market for the Pocket will be Linux users. The Pocket will run Windows too, but as a added bonus. This gives me good hopes that it will be well supported by Ubuntu.
there are differences, first of all this product for geeks, Linux enthusiasts, mobile computing and mild office users. It is very small, very convenient to carry, and solve the input problem. Can replace the mainstream combo laptop and tablet.

that's a good discovery.
one of the people posted about the X7-Z87xx CPU vs Apollo Lake didn't notice that the former is a Silvermont core, the latter a Goldmont which gained a bunch of new technology from the Skylake core.

Almost ready, video doesn't show much but at least linux support isn't a pipe dream.
