Hi!
I need Bluetooth connectivity in my(soon to be purchased) C860. I was wondering which is the better solution, a normal Bluetooth CF card(like the Blue Monkey card) or the AirCable solution.
Is their any reason to believe one is faster than the other, since I believe the AirCable uses \"Serial mode\"?
I will be using the Bluetooth connectivity to connect over my provider\'s GPRS network to surf the web, access Unix machines etc. Can anybody comment on their experience in doing this with either an AirCable or CF card? ANy problems you experience?
How does the AirCable \"sit\" in the C860, does anybody have experience of this? I would hate it to stick out of the C860 and make handling the C860 awkward etc. Does anybody know how far the Blue Monkey card stick out(I know the Socket cards fit nice and flush but I don\'t want to go through the hassle of getting a new 2.5G version working, sounds like the Blue Monkey card works without hassles).

The Bluemonkey card \"sticks out\" only by 1cm so it does not interfere with holding it and typing with your thumbs.
It is also smaller than my wifi card.

Well, there is a tradeoff for both options.
If you use AIRcable, you can keep the CF storage but you would feel uneasy when typing in landscape mode.
If you opt for bluetooth CF, you will enjoy the little \"edge\" ;-) but at a cost of the CF storage.
I can\'t help holding my 860 in my palm and meditating:
To bite or not to bite, that\'s not the question. (coz I need bluetooth so badly anyway)
To buy this or not to buy that, that\'s the question.

In terms of software/driver setup, are there any issues with either the AirCable or the BlueMonkey card? The last thing I want to do is have to waste days just getting Bluetooth working.
zbones, does the Blue Monkey stick out enough to be awkward/irritating or does it catch on anything when carrying it around etc? Sounds like it is more comfortable than the AirCable, since I would like to insert the BT CF card and then \"forget\" about it. I\'ll use SD cards for memory etc.

Just came across the dimensions of AIRcable: 56 x 31x 11 mm. Isn\'t it a bit too big? Any comments? Thanks.

I\'m using the AirCable on my C-860 with no problems, though it does take a bit of editing to one file to get it working the first time. Can\'t really tell you about the other bluetooth cards, I don\'t use \"tooth\" very frequently, but when I do the AirCable has been satisfactory and doesn\'t seem to take much power.

Not with the cacko QT rom and the BlueMonkey. With other roms Tumnus\'s bluetooth drivers work great and are not too difficult to install.
I can\'t vouch for the aircable as I haven\'t tried it. I wanted a cf card just in case sharp changed the socket on a newer zaurus, and didn\'t include built in bluetooth.

It\'s not as bad as a wifi card, and the corners are well rounded. I generally remove it and replace it with my 512mb cf card. The zaurus does however take longer to suspend/resume with the bluetooth card inserted (4 seconds or so) due to it having to remove/reload the drivers to avoid locking up.
If I was to make the choice again I would get the same card, I think the extra hassles with the rev G socket card along with the extra price would be deciding factors.

Hi,
I´m new to that board and would like to help.
In my case I needed a easy to set up bluetooth-connection with my NOKIA 6310 Phone.
The only thing I needed to do when, my AirCable arirved was a first time pairing with my phone and my Desktop and the change of two lines in that \"DialupIrDaxxxxxxx\" file.
After that, I only plug my AirCable to my Zaurus, switch my Cellphone to Bluetooth mode and work.
Same with my Desktop, before that lousy W2K crashed I was able to syncronise my Zaurus with Serial - Mode over the Bluetooth connection.
But I still need to find out, what went wrong with that new installation of W2k that syncing isn´t possible rigth now.
