Title: Gemini PDA's supported cellular bands on frequencycheck.com
Post by: Varti on January 30, 2018, 04:39:01 am
Facebook Gemini Planet's member Poppa West has published a link to the Gemini's page on frequencycheck.com, where it is possible to check the Gemini's country/carrier compatibility and compare it to any other device's supported bands:

So NO 3G bands (Either UTMS or CDMA) in the USA, and only 33% of the LTE bands. How many US mobile providers support VoLTE on non-contract devices? Hopefully the Gemini won't get too heavily savaged by the US-centric technology media.

The site is not listing the supported CDMA bands, which, according to Planet, should be 850 and 1900 MHz, BC0/BC1+/EVDO, this should at least increase a bit the coverage in the US.

Yeah, the frequency situation in the US is worrisome to say the least...

On T-Mobile (my carrier), only 2 of 5 LTE bands are listed as supported.  On
AT&T, there's a third (700 MHz) band added.

My last keyboard phone, the LG F3Q, seemed to use the same bands as what is
listed for the Gemini.  As T-Mo transitioned to their current set of
frequencies, I had tons of problems with dropped calls, no data in a lot of
areas, slow data in most others.   It was immensely frustrating.

OTOH, we can only wait and see when PC finally gets around to shipping any
machines to the States, and then we'll find out what the deal is.  Maybe I
have to switch carriers?     :/

I am hoping the list that they have is wrong and more frequencies will be usable.

Hi all,

A bit of an update now that I have my Gemini in hand...

Fortunately, I've NOT been seeing the kinds of dropped calls and disconnects
that I got with my old LG F3Q (which seemed to use the same frequencies).  The
Gemini seems to stay online and maintain a solid SSH session where I'd expect
it would.

As time goes on, I'm sure I'll get a better feel for things.

Thanks,

PJS
