Title: PDAXROM for 5500
Post by: arcX on April 20, 2004, 04:54:12 am
How far off is it?
What would be the best alternative for the 5500 to use X11 while waiting?

VNC server and a viewer is another solution. This couple is used in http://pocketworkstation.org/ (http://pocketworkstation.org/) for exemple.

Xqt is smaller for certain, PocketWorkststion requires an ext2 formatted storage card.

What kind of thing do you want to be able to run (PocketWorkstation will run more \'out of the box\' and more easily).

That said I use Xqt as I only need to use R & gnuplot.

Probably half of these would not work, but:
xmms, open office, konqueror, mozilla, perl, vim, X11 keyboard, java, xslt, Apache, jetty, blender

some of those are console apps that should work with any Zaurus rom.

and others will need the gnome libs (mozilla I think) or Qt/X11 libs (konq possibly).

Things like xmms should just work fine in Xqt.
