I just saw that LG have released a community edition of WebOS for Raspberry Pi 3.
https://www.cnx-software.com/2018/03/19/lg-...raspberry-pi-3/ (https://www.cnx-software.com/2018/03/19/lg-releases-webos-open-source-edition-optimized-for-raspberry-pi-3/)
I wonder how hard it would be to run this on the Gemini?

I am not super familiar with WebOS, although I did limited Palm development at one point. I believe it depends greatly on what code is included in the Raspberry Pi port.
R-Pi 3 has Cortex A53 (as does Gemini, as well as A72), but a Broadcom GPU.
At least one variant of WebOS does support a GPU from the Mali line, however, according to
http://webossignage.developer.lge.com/disc.../hardware-spec/ (http://webossignage.developer.lge.com/discover/specification/hardware-spec/)
I am not an OS developer or hardware engineer, so I don't know how similar the Mali T-800 series (in Gemini) is to the ARM MaliT-700 series that the WebOS 'signage' variant supports. But as far as CPU and GPU support, it seems like it could be worse. I know PalmOS used to support (infrared) keyboards and screen rotation, which would also be important to Gemini, of course.
I too would be curious if anyone else has more info

If Halium is available it'd be possible to port LuneOS & potentially WebOS OSE in future too.
The LuneOS developers are working through the WebOS OSE release to see how aligned the two are.
It'd take someone with interest & time to port it!

as a ( now definct) h-p touchpad owner i have long thought that webos would be really good for gemini -- especially if it keeps the angry birds whee when launching an app into oblivion. but there have been many false alarms with webos ports. might end up making the gemini into a very expensive teevee remote.
