Title: Differences between TP1 and TP2
Post by: DonOregano on June 26, 2018, 06:40:06 am
If I understand correctly there was a Technical Preview 2 of Debian released on the 22nd of June, but I have been unable to find any information about the differences between TP1 and TP2.
Should I reflash, or is a TP1 followed by a dist-upgrade and a kernel update the same as TP2?

Is there a developer channel somewhere where things like this are discussed? The #gemini-pda irc channel I would assume to be mainly about Android.

In my experience, it's mostly about GNU/Linux.

Don as the TP2 page you linked says: "This is basically just TP1 + all the updates."

The reasons you might want to re-flash is that it has new partitions layout allowing tri(quad*) boot: Bootloader (https://github.com/gemian/gemini-keyboard-apps/wiki/Bootloader), which is handy if you want to try out new kernels that might fail and still get back to a working system with a different key combination, or if you want to try out sailfish etc.

* - quad if you include recovery.

I can confirm this. Not a lot of Android talk.
