You can find it on Google Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...ripla.gemagenda (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pripla.gemagenda)
A first review of the new app has been published on The Register:
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/07/06/ge...enda_exclusive/ (https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/07/06/gemini_agenda_exclusive/)
Thanks to salvomic and kiko88 for the heads up.

On first use the app generated a "problem with install error: re-install" popup error even though Play Store displayed a successful install message.
Uninstalled, re-installed it and restarted my Gemini.
Perhaps an anomaly....

Thanks, varti!
Looks good....
Just installed it...

Yes, probably...
Works OK for me....

Went ok here, only I cannot find the widget...

Looks like you can't use it unless you sign in to Google…
No possibility of stand-alone use?

Agenda app works OK and looks nice. However, I like seeing meeting / appointment time blocks visually, like in Outlook.
Seems odd to just see name of meeting/appt with start time.
I want to see what my day looks like in terms of time booked versus free time in my day.
So, unless there's a way to change this in Agenda app, I'll use another program, unfortunately.
-
A bit weird, all of this.
First, I read the announcement by Salvomic coincidentally in the Italian forum. No Indiegogo announcement whatsoever, whereas this should be considered quite impressive news.
Then, the development time was apparently 11 months.
Hum,hum... as a former 5mx enthousiast I am of course very Agenda minded.
The 5mx agenda was impressive.
This one... bofff...
I fortunately read in the Register review, that there is a zoom function. That's good news ! But... the app does not remember the zoom I chose.
And yes indeed... why is there not an offline mode, without Google ?
I read in earlier reviews that it did not sync with Google (which is not good either), but now it is the other way around.
Carrying on.... currently hesitating between aCalendar and Business Calendar.
Would be good if the Gemini eventually has its own software suite, just as good as the Psion software suite {but of course with all the 21st Century good stuff).

Me too. Then later (several times) "Agenda keeps stopping."
FWIW, the Agenda widget looks exactly like the calendar widget I'm using, except it starts agenda rather than the calendar app..

Not possible in this release. i hate this type of software design. google connections should be optional.
-
Not possible in this release.
I find its lack of independence… disturbing.
Before I spend ages trying, does anyone know off-hand whether aCalendar, CalenGoo, or the other likely candidates need to be signed in to Google too?

Very disappointed... I don't have a Google account, and have absolutely no intention of submitting... For a device which is supposed to epitomize freedom, this is not the way to go!
-
Why is the agenda so extremely slow? This is almost useless.
================================================
In addition
- many key features of the original psion agenda are missing
- show only next of recurring events missing
- not possible to set the day view time slots
- space does not work as today.
================================================
The screen real estate is not used (very small fonts in edit entry menu, unused border around views).
The gray color should be customizable.

Hello,
(...)Before I spend ages trying, does anyone know off-hand whether aCalendar (...) need to be signed in to Google too?
I can speak for aCalendar: It can synchronize with Google, but it doesn't have to. I accidently didn't switch off calendar sync on one device, and kept getting "week n" numbering (instead of just numbers as I set it to), us holidays resp. holiday names in english (not my native language) and stuff. Now I have switched off Google sync on all my android device, and everything is calm now.
I have a "firewall" installed on two of my devices - one of them the Gemini - , which blocks all network access for any application I don't want access, including Google "Playstore" (what a childish name for a software respository!") and Google services, and aCalendar runs just fine.
I use MyPhoneExplorer for synchronizing calendars between my android devices, via a windows pc.
Kind regards

I am signed in to Google for the Play store, but I don't sync my calendar/contacts etc via Google. Most of it works fine with CardDAV-Sync and CalDAV-Sync to ownCloud. Not using the tasks yet as that wants me to sync via the PC app.
-
You can find it on Google Store...
Is there a way that anyone can see to make this sync with MS Outlook? (needed for work).

Hello,
I'm currently testing. And I noticed that I can
select the strike out function but it seems not working.
Does any of you have the same problem? Or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure I see the point of the weather function... It just allows me to choose from maybe a dozen cities worldwide. In the US, it's just New York and Los Angeles, and both of those places have about as much relevance to my local weather as Zagreb or Tokyo. I'd think there'd be a way to localize it a bit better than that. Please tell me I'm overlooking some obvious setting...
-
Installed without problems.
Looks good.
Checked settings for syncing using Davdroid to my NextCloud, looks good, the PC and Google accounts unchecked, good.
As a long time Revo user, the first thing I did was attempt to create a calendar entry for today titled 'test'.
In the Revo Agenda, if you started typing, it automatically created a calendar entry, in this version, I start typing 'test' and Agenda simply crashed upon pressing the 't'.
This is on one of the original Geminis, bog standard Android, everything that I am aware of, up to date. No Rooting or dual booting done. Also no SIM installed, but WiFi enabled.
The calendar app I was using was 'Calendar 7.1.1'

Is there a way that anyone can see to make this sync with MS Outlook? (needed for work).
Outlook linked to Exchange or Office 365?
I managed to sync this app to three separate calendar accounts: Google for personal stuff, and for work: one Exchange calendar and one office 365 calendar (different employers). Sync to Google and Exchange was automatic since I had the respective email accounts set up already. I could not find a direct way to sync the Office 365 calendar. I could sync Office 365 to Google, but then the synced entries only appear on the web version of Google calendar. Syncing my Office 365 calendar to my Exchange calendar did cause the synced entries to appear on Agenda through the Exchange connection. So, three calendars through two accounts. In other words, if you are referring to Office 365 you probably need an intermediary account like Exchange which can integrate an external calendar.
-
I installed the app, but when I run it, it insists that I sign in to my Google account. I don't use Google Calendar or Contacts, and the apps I currently use - Business Calendar and the stock Calendar app - don't need access to my Google account. I don't understand why Agenda does need it.
As I'm currently using the Gemini without using my Google account, it looks like I'll have to give Agenda a miss until / unless Planet change this feature / bug Which is a shame, because from the reviews I have seen it looks good.

Not sure if it is just me, but it doesn't seem possible to choose 24 hour time format; that's quite a basic localisation function, even within the UK..

I think it follows the Android system setting for time format. Try changing your setting there.
-
I have the same issue - I can't seem to change the day view to 24 hour format. It's already set to use 24 hour format as far as I can tell and the clock in the status bar is in 24 hour format.
Also - I logged my account into my office 365 but it doesn't appear to support calendar sync with office 365? (which is strange because calendar apps o other devices like Iphone and so on seem to sync calendar no problem).
I also remember that in the original 5MX agenda you could press the tab key to bring up a mini month calendar and then again to put it to 3 months - would be nice to have that feature back as well.

I can VIEW the Agenda in 24 hour format, but I can't make an entry with 24 hour format, I HAVE to use am/pm (which is ABSOLUTELY NOT how I am used to enter/think about time...).
Other gripes/problems, in no particular order:- In month view I get a new item generated, without the possibility to enter anything in it, when pressing enter... (An empty entry at noon, but I seem to SOMETIMES get the possibility to edit it too.)
- In week view I see less lines/entries than there clearly is room for... (It uses about 60 % of the height I guess, and in portrait-view about 30%!)
- It displays only start-time in week-view (and probably day-view too?), and not end-time.
- There is no way of entering date with only the keyboard except with the arrows...???
- The anniversaries in the box on top on the right hand side in week view are wrong (it shows January 1st and March 29th on ALL weeks for me...)
- I apparently have to install the "Planet Sync adapter" to view or make to-do's?? (WHY???? Don't really use them, so can get by without them, but still??)
- The "crossout" (and I assume the other "special view"-features too) does nothing...
- There doesn't seem to be any difference between "Events" and "Day entry"?? (Doesn't really bother me, but what is the point then?)
- I'm not able to "navigate" completely with the keyboard alone, I need to use the touchscreen for some things
- There is no way to edit the entries made with "Holiday Settings". I would like to be able to at least translate them...
- I do not seem to be able to snooze an alarm?? And the notification needs to be "opened" by dragging from top of the screen to be able to stop it as well?? I am coming from Symbian, and I am used to notifications popping up on the screen (and almost any action silences them if they have sound, with the opportunity to snooze, reject, or whatever, after silencing it).
- It seems the toggles for displaying entries in current timezone are backwards??
- No possibility of marking several items for copy, cut and/or deletion??
I do believe the list is actually longer than this, but this is what I remember at the moment. There are things I like as well; the zoom function, the cut/copy/paste possibility and the week-view is more or less how I like it (except for the 30-60% usage of space and missing end-time ).
But the BIGGEST problem whit Agenda/calendar for me is that I haven't gotten my old calendar-data over to Android/Gemini yet... Anybody know of a way to get data from Symbian calendar to Android, preferable without syncing with something like Google Calendar. I will probably do it through Google calendar if I absolutely HAVE TO, but would prefer to sync, or transfer, something locally to just my computer. I did think I got it across by using a program to get the vcs-files from a backup, converting to ics (and then merging). But it seems most of my recurring events didn't come across properly. Haven't really looked at it to see if the problem is with the vcs-files, ics-files or the merging, but it seems I might need another approach.
(I haven't gotten my SMSes over to Andriod yet either, and I've got a few thousand... But that is a bit too much OT, so I'll find a proper post to add it to, or start a new one for that.)
-
To add to your very comprehensive (and recognizable) list: most items are in English and some items are in my local language (Dutch - but it follows the Android settings). This is all finely mixed.
All other Apps I have are either entirely in English (not yet translated) or entirely in Dutch.
I do recognize the problem, though, from other OS's: the result of sloppy beta-testing.
Perhaps the Planet PDA announcement should have stated "and after those 11 months of development time this is our first beta version. Feel free to test it and report all bugs to us."

No, I have the same problem here. In fact not only does the strike out function not work, neither do any of the colour selections. When you are selecting any of the colour or strike out settings, it shows in the 'entry line' but as soon as you click on 'Select' and go back to the calender view, you lose those selections! I just assumed it is not working fully yet. Or do others have this working? I don't have any other Calendar App in use (to my knowledge) but I do have Agenda preference setting 'Sync to PC' (Planet Computer) ticked.

I seem to find that strike through, colour italic all work on a to-do entry. How about find, has anyone got that working?

Thank you Roy for your answer.
I can only confirm your other statements. In addition, I noticed that the Navbar regularly covers part of the input screen, sometimes more and sometimes less.

@Steve Goodey
Hello Steve
Thanks for the info with the todo list, indeed it`is working there.
I did not even notice the Find function until now. Just like you, it does not work for me. I click Find and then nothing happens, it does not open an input mask, it just does nothing. There is still a lot of room for improvement in the app. Many functions are hardly or not at all working.

It needs an account to sync with it does not need to be a google account. I use DavDroid on the gemini to sync contacts and calander with fastmail.uk via CalDAV once installed DAVDroid just appears as a account. There are quite a few providers using CalDAV or you can always set up your own OwnCloud server if you really want to.
See below Google a/c is for playstore Davdroid for calander and contacts on Fastmail.

Ok, this one I'm somewhat puzzled that no one else has commented on yet:
It's totally impossible to enter a location, unless you use the location service, or the search results in the location tab!!
I'm usually using "special" names for my locations, like "Home", "Work", or a special name (could be anything, but I KNOW where that is, and don't need to have an actual address or longer description of it...). So that one, in my opinion is, totally stupid, and given their effort to give us multiple boot-options etc., quite surprising. It could be nice to be able to use the search or Google maps (I probably wouldn't use Google maps anyway...), but to not give us the opportunity to just enter a location ourselves is, like I just said, plain stupid!
I'm not (as far as I know...) syncing with anything, and am not using Google Calendar, and it seems Agenda should work without syncing (except for to-do's, which demands to connect to the Planet sync...) or access to a Google account. I do have a Google account set up on my Gemini, but it works without syncing to Google Calendar. (I have just tried to turn of all data-transmission, and the Agenda app at least starts up, and seems to work as usual.)
But I just got another strange bug: When copying an event, and then pasting it, it got a start (and end) time 1 minute earlier than the original event???
And to add to my rather long list of problems from an earlier post in this thread:- I got an event that has "invisible" description (thought it was because it was to long, but have made a few tries, and am unable to reproduce it now...)
- On the edit "screen" you only see one digit for number of weeks repetition..
- Hopelessly slow... (I have been poking at the screen for probably close to half a minute, and maybe longer, feeling like a complete idiot, before it responds)
- Pressing spacebar to toggle a setting doesn't work everywhere...
- It is not possible to press the date in week view to go to that particular date, and generally "choosing" a date is difficult without also opening an entry that day
- Now real way of just VIEWING an entry, you just open it up in edit mode (where you don't have all the information on "one page" either...)
- There seems to be ZERO possibilities to alter the look of the widget...
- There is no way of viewing location of an event?? (Other than opening for edit...)
- The "In month view I get a new item generated, without the possibility to enter anything in it, when pressing enter... (An empty entry at noon, but I seem to SOMETIMES get the possibility to edit it too.)" from my previous post seem to come from a wrongful detection of TWO enter-presses, and can probably happen in any view. I just had the opposite problem in week view; I couldn't open an item properly, it just popped up and disappeared again when trying to open with enter...
Just to add a little gripe about Calengoo too: It isn't possible to navigate with arrow-keys, and there is no way of opening/viewing/editing an item from the week view (at least I can't get it to work...)
I have now edited (manually) all the missing entries from my vcs-ics conversion. (It seems it would be difficult to get the recurring events over properly. Some searches claimed that vcs-files doesn't have the ability to contain recurring event, but looking at the files it seems to be wrong: The recurring events are stored as one event, but with multiple time/dates in vcs-files. And a curious fact: If a recurring event is created, and you then delete the first entry, from the vcs-file THAT entry is still carried over to the ics-file!?!) So I've been going over almost 12 years of entries, but fortunately only the last 4 or 5 years I've been using recurring events. But it still took some hours!

As reported in other threads in forum here, the very responsive Calengoo developer responded to requests from some Gemini users for keyboard shortcuts to take advantage of having physical keyboard. He quickly updated the program to do this and offered a beta version for any of us to test out for him and report back with comments.
I tested program and provided feedback. Dev very quickly responded with a revised beta of Calengoo and asked me to test it. Did that and had some additional comments. Dev again very quickly responded with a new beta and asked me to try it again. This happened a few more times. Each time he responded at lightning speed. Very impressed.
Been extremely busy at work lately, so, haven't had time to see if he released a new version of Calengoo with the keyboard shortcuts included.
If any of you are interested in this, please email dev expressing your interest in the beta or release version if it's ready for release.
Found it to be a very good program with the keyboard shortcuts.
The Planet program is definitely 'half baked', if you know what I mean.....but looks nice.
Just my 2¢....
YMMV

Which is somewhat my reason for posting my "gripe" with Calengoo here as well; I knew there where some people already in contact with the developer, and was hoping some of them might forward the "problems" to him...

Think I will just wait for the new version. Unless Planet gets out an update which fixes most of the bugs pretty quick, I will need something else that WORKS in the meantime...

So 5 months have passed. Has the Agenda app improved ?
