Hey folks
Has anyone else had problems with Vodafone 4G in the UK? I can make/receive calls, send SMS and have 4G listed in my status bar - I've an X27, mobile data is using the Vodafone SIM. Under phone status I'm connected to the mobile network, have an IP etc. But Chrome (or other apps) just won't connect to anything.
I've switched airplane mode, wifi, bluetooth etc on and off. Vodafone SMS says I have my full data allowance for the month.. argh! No idea why this isn't working.
Any ideas anyone? I've a suspicion this started when I enabled the Wifi hotspot - pretty sure I had it working before then (but I'm in an out of Wifi, so can't be 100% sure).
Loving the Gemini but this is driving me potty (3G doesn't work either).
I'm running latest firmware for what its worth.
Cheers

Hello,
did you already check if you have activated the data usage limit on your Gemini? Maybe that's where the problems come from.

Hey there dogomalaika
Under settings/data usage you mean? Data Saver is off - Data Warning is at 18GB - I've used 19.91 KB of mobile data according to the device.
Worth a look though - hadn't considered that!

It might be the same problem as I reported here (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=35480)
If that is the case you just need to reset/wipe the IP-address for "proxy-server" in the setting for the APN. (Should be located under "More"->"Mobile networks" -> "Access points". My Gemini is in Norwegian, so the wording may very well be wrong, but "Access points" should be the second last item on that page...)
If that doesn't help I'm afraid don't have any more advice to give

Hi Gymbo
My APN settings for Vodafone (wap.vodafone.co.uk) are selected but greyed out / not editable. I can read them though - no proxy set according to that.
Cheers anyway!

I'm going to brave Vodafone customer service - which if any of you have ever tried is never a good experience - I just can't see any Gemini issues here

Things are now working - without me really doing anything. Called Vodafone, spent a bit of time with them going through settings. Nothing wrong their end. Nothing we could find on the Gemini either. Advised me to try the SIM in another device and if same issue call into local branch. Did that (with an iPhone) - same issue. Calls, SMS, no internet despite 4G connection. Popped the SIM back in the Gemini, left it for the evening. Got a text half an hour or so later from Vodafone saying that, as requested they'd turned my data cap on. Reader, I had requested no such thing. This morning - everything works. Hadn't touched any settings.
Got to say, Planet support were really on the ball with me. Quick response to email etc. Vodafone were actually not too bad either - presume the guy I spoke to figured something out and amended the account somehow.
So now I have a fully functioning Gemini
(Next step - break it again with Debian)
