Details are here: https://together.jolla.com/question/191509/...300-lemmenjoki/ (https://together.jolla.com/question/191509/release-notes-300-lemmenjoki/)
Among the changes listed is "improved support for MediaTek chipsets."
Those signed up for early adoption -- last-chance beta test -- can download it today (though I do not know and kind of doubt that this includes Gemini devices, but maybe). It will become generally available in about a week. Whether Gemini has now joined the regular list of supported devices -- I don't know, though I do know there is a recipe for upgrading the Planet-provided Sailfish, without a reflash being needed: https://together.jolla.com/question/186471/...anet-computers/ (https://together.jolla.com/question/186471/wiki-geminipda-with-sailfish-os-community-port-on-planet-computers/)
So.

So you logged in to your Jolla account, set the pointers in the config files, and just updated? Did you get aliendalvik? MS Exchange?

I did it manually with:
ssu re 3.0.0.5
version --dup
no AlienDalivik or other jolla licensed features. not that I would ever use microsoft service such as exchange.

I am getting an error:
Error: File 'repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:/testing:/hw:/planet:/geminipda/sailfishos_3.0.0.5/'
using the ssu re 3.0.0.5 and version --dup commands.
Any ideas on what this error is?
Thanks.

your /usr/share/ssu/features.d/adaptation-community.ini shoud be:
repos = adaptation-community
pattern = Feature community adaptation
description = Enable ssu for community ports
[repositories]
adaptation-community = http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:/devel...latest_%(arch)/ (http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:/devel:/hw:/planet:/geminipda/sailfish_latest_%(arch)/)

Just to note, with the release of 3.0.0.8 yesterday...
Updating to 3.0.0.8 with ssu re 3.0.0.8 / version --dup seemed to work fine.
Got warning about packagemgr (?) crash but completed after retry.
Need to re-apply the fix for rotation.
It's worth doing as it fixes the layout of icons in the appl tray.

Thanks, I just updated to 3.0.0.8. BTW: where do you get info about new release? I do not see it anywhere on Jolla webpage.

I'm still trying to sort out just where the distinctions are between Jolla Sailfish and community Sailfish. Hints can be gotten from together.jolla.com, but you have to look and make some leaps, and the search function seems pretty imperfect. I do not think that any official Jolla commercial 3.0.0 release except for the early version has taken place, and it seems that the community version is what's out there.
It would be good if Sailfish were a lot better documented. If there's a vast repository of documentation, it's well hidden.

I found out about the release because my Xperia X announced the upgrade availability (I'm not using gemini as daily driver due to reliability issues - another story).
When I spotted it, there was already an announcement on the Jolla blog (blog.jolla.com) and I think it had already been mentioned on talk.maemo.org as well.
Since there's now a free demo of sfos X to download for XperiaX, and the change to X licence period, the split seems to be at the point of adding the paid-for apps now, AlienDalvik and MSExchange etc. Essentially stuff which Jolla has to pay licence fees on, AFAIUI.
I'm not usually bang up to date with all this stuff, I get most of my info from t.m.o usually.

Hmmm -- my XperiaX didn't tell me there's an upgrade available, and I paid $58 for SFOS for it!

Same here on the licencing, but a number of factors could affect the update announcement...
Are you on the Early Access program (so already had 3.0.0.5 available)
I'm not sure of the phone schedule for checking updates, but its not constant or push AFAICS. My X currently says 'last checked 3 hours ago'. Also by default setting checks only when wifi is connected.
I don't know if it's changed but in the early days, updates weren't available to all devices at once (to reduce server load?) I don't know/remember if availability was segmented by area, account no, phase of moon or just the karma of the owner.

It came up on my phone last night. You can force a check with the pulley menu on the Settings > update page. I don't know how often it checks or if Jolla pushes a check. I suspect the latter, because I have seen it go seven days without a check, and last night when I looked 3.0.0.8 was there when it hadn't been yesterday morning. I think 3.0.0.5 was purely the early access, a/k/a beta, release.
I'm not in the early release program -- my days of being up all night to fix something have mostly passed. (Having said that, I am waiting for the battery to run down because the install is stuck before beginning because I forgot to uninstall an app that must be uninstalled before the upgrade, after which it will boot into 2.2.18, I can uninstall the app, and the process can begin anew.)

I have updated (gemini triple boot) manually to 3.0.5 from 2.2.18.
Any ideas why icons are dense? Icons need more margin so that text under icon do not overlap..

Info, update from 3.0.5 to 3.0.8 fixed icons spacing in drawer... but still "Off" (sleep) button doesn't work

I'm confused...
The key is labelled as Fn-Esc = "Off" and that works as expected for me.
If it were mapped as just Esc for Off, that would (for me at least) be a waste of a key (and a useful one on a linux based machine.)

With Sailfish 2.2.18, standy was ok, now with 3.0.0.8 it looks that it doesn't go to sleep, so battery is drained quickly..
I cannot manually turn off the screen (with Top left off button like before)
Any ideas / experience from 3.0.0.8?
