Title: MSN for the sl-5500

Can anyone tell me of working MSN client?  I\'ve tried kmerlin but I can\'t login.  It says it\'s connecting but immediately goes offline with no error messages.

Try GAIM seems to work pretty good.

I tried gaim as per the soyrceforge instructions and feed, but when I try to start it I just ger the task icon in the status bar but no application:( Anyone know whats going wrong?

Yeah -- look under the GAIM FAQ on their Sourceforge site -- its a libpng problem easily fixed.

not sure what I am doing wrong but I\'ve now installed the following and downloaded libpng and linked as per the instructions, and restarted qtopia, and rebooted and gaim still won\'t start.  I downloaded all these modules and installed them all at the same time.
gconv-tiny, libgaim, libgaim-protocol-jabber, libgaim-protocol-msn, libgaim-ssl, libcrypt1, libglib2.0, libgnutls7, libpng12, qpe-gaim, and zlib.
Any more help gratefully accepted

it\'s ok I reakised I was missing the opie library.  Also I needed to change root home to /home/root from /root.

Can someone confirm that GAIM works with MSN at the moment please?

...and are we talking about the version from killefiz.de? It says it's version 0.4.

Yes I can confirm it works!
I used qpe-gaim_0-1.4-1_arm.ipk from

i installed gaim myself yesteerday on my sl-6000 (actually, it's the company's), got it working, but sometimes when i send or receive a msn message it crashes. works fine with icq messages though. is this a known problem? also, after installation i could change the 'run magnified option',but after making it actually work by installing all dependencies and the libpng fix, the option is greyed out and no longer available (does run in highres mode when started from cli). did i do something wrong somewhere?
