Title: First word capitalization in apps other than text editors

Received my CC (US) a few weeks back and have enjoyed it very much so far.
One issue I have not been able to resolve: First word capitalization in apps other than text editors. Text editors are ok. Appears to be an issue for the Planet keyboard (physical) only. Virtual keyboard works fine.

Changed and experimented with settings, keyboards and other software. (Tried Swiftkey as well, w/o luck.)
Checked dev options, but no options.

Has anybody else had this issue?

Definitely taking me a long time to get used to the fact it doesn't do it for me like other Android devices when I'm using physical keyboard.

... and dictionary suggestions, I miss those.

lots of my sentences end up looking like this...

Following this as I am searching for these functions as well.  
Moreover I use beside German (QUERTZ) also English and Italian and found no way to install the QWERTZ physical keyboard while typing... (actually I would love to leave the keyboard as it is (German) and have the word prediction in Italian and English after I switched with "CTRL" and "SPACE"...
Wonder if this is possible...

I'd also like to ctrl-space between different languages. (Less bothered by word prediction, but nice to be able to switch between keyboards and unicode languages.)

The only way I found is using "Language preferences", there is an option to add English (German). This does not work for Italian (only options Italia, San Marino, Svizzera). Also I didn't find a short cut to change language. You have to set it in settings (Einstellungen) -> system -> languages & input -> Add a language / change language by moving the prefered language to the top.

I had reached out to PC a few weeks before Christmas and hope they will fix the capitalization and auto correct functions for physical keyboard use in upcoming firmware update. Not holding my breath through...
