Title: help!! installing gcc

Hi,

Would anyone recommend the 5600 over the 5500?
Anyway ..I\'m fairly new to the Linux enviroment ..and I want to install gcc on my zaurus ..does anyone have easy to follow instructions? ..and I mean simple! ..as I am new to this.  Please e-mail me!

I\'m running GCC on my Z, but as far as I was aware it\'s only for the C series.

You may find some pointers here. IF it works on a 5x00, you have to mount a disk image from a storage card (instructions given) and run a script to setup, then reboot. I hope it works for you too, I am really impressed being able to code in bed, on the bus, in a field or even on the toilet :-)

It should work on the 5500 though you may have to use the -mcpu=strongarm1100 switch (if it defaults to the xscale cpu, I don\'t know).
