Title: Angstom / kexecboot
Post by: StWtal on January 31, 2020, 09:40:17 pm
Hi All,

I do have a SL-C3200 with Angstom / kexecboot.
It boots a pdaxii13 V5.4.9 and 2 x Debian.
Is it save to switch to 4.4.18 kexexcboot without the risc of losing the systems?

Rgds,
Stefan

I believe it should not interfere with all your installed systems, since you already have an older kexecboot installed. You might want to backup any ROM you have on the internal flash (pdaxii) just in case.
Is the 4.4.18 kexec the one from Arch Linux ARM? It uses an Arch Linux logo; since you don't have Arch Linux installed, you might want to use a kexec from the LinuxPDA site which uses a generic kexec logo,  although it is based on an older kernel version: https://github.com/LinuxPDA/linux-kexecboot (https://github.com/LinuxPDA/linux-kexecboot)

Hello Varti,

I wanted to use kexecboot "LinuxPDA" with logo "openembedded".
Tried it, and it is working fine with all of my systems selectable.

Thanks for your advice!

Rgds,
Stefan
