Title: Installed TWRP & Debian/KDE Plasma - Some Issues
Post by: ArchiMark on February 25, 2020, 08:23:08 am
Installed the newly released TWRP and Debian/KDE Plasma on my Cosmo last evening.

Install went well following PC's instructions.

So far, Debian/KDE works quite well.

Tried apt-get and installed a few more programs.

Thumbs up!

Can anyone help with this issue I came up with?
I followed all the instructions from Planet support site,
1. Repartitioned memory 30 A, 90 Linux;
2. On 2nd partition put TWRP;
3. On 3rd partition put Debian;
4. Selected 'Reboot to bootloader'.

Now I have a blank screen with

=> FASTBOOT mode...

And that's it.
I can not do anything to push things forward, I can not even turn it off.
Nothing I do makes my Cosmo respond in any way.

Please, help!

OK, I've figured it out:

You need adb on your PC, with that comes fastboot tool, what you need to do is run

`sudo ./fastboot reboot`

Glad you fixed it.

Although I did not need to do this.....

and I don't recall doing your step 4. Think I selected Reboot System Now.

A few more issues....

Plugged in my mini-mouse into USB-C port on right side, but not recognized. Worked fine on my Gemini with linux...

Audio....notice crackling sound....tried lowering volume, but doesn't make much difference.

Right and left click mouse...need a way to do right and left mouse button clicks....

@ArchiMark, I respect diversity of needs and user cases, but I find this "mouseless" solution much more comfortable (no need to carry mouse around in my pocket, however small it is).

For kbd backlight in Linux, there is no solution yet, but I feel it is close...

If you are stuck in the fastboot option, I have found that if you hold FN/ESC for several seconds the Cosmo will switch off.  You can then switch on normally to get the boot menu.

Thanks for your suggestions, Ben.

I did that 'mouseless' solution on my Gemini and it worked well. Had not gotten around to doing it yet on my Cosmo.

Was surprised that mouse did not work, as it worked well on Gemini.

When I have some time I will do the 'mouseless' solution.

Well, more issues.....

Was in process of doing the 'mouseless' solution....but left Cosmo for a while....

Came back and display black, blue indicator light still on....

Have not been able to wake up Cosmo...ie, see KDE desktop....display is black....

Had to hold down fn + ESC for awhile and then blue light went off.

Then pressed ESC to turn on Cosmo again....

Any way to prevent this issue?

Thanks a lot works nicely. Is there a way to preserve 2-Finger Zooming? No longer working...
