Hi folks. I’m new to this forum. My Cosmo, when I make or answer a call, closed clamshell, the other end can hear me. I can’t hear them. Only opened on speakerphone can I hear the other person. I have looked through settings but see nothing relevant. I have seen online that some others have the same issue. PC have not provided answers. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Mine is in brazilian portuguese language. I will translate. In settings look for sound . And sound improvement. And turn on Besloudness . Maybe this help.
Good luck.

I had this issue just as lockdown hit here (UK)
Planet were closed during lockdown, so in the meantime I used speakerphone pretty much all the time, but if you dial down the volume you can use it like a normal phone.
The only option I had (and I went through all sorts), was to return it to Planet for repair which they were very happy to do and it only cost me to send it to them. Had it back in less than a week, but of course it took me longer to restore all my apps & data
Get in touch with Planet soon as, at least then the fault is logged with them

Cam and Novaldex
Thanks both for the reply. I have had a good look through phone settings but there is nothing relevant. It does seem like this is a known issue with Cosmos and so will have to send it off to PC, which I am reluctant to do. If there are any other suggestions I would be interested. I am no programmer but don't mind taking a mobile apart and applying a soldering iron. Thanks again.

Try a factory reset first before send the cosmo to PC.

I am having the same issue since a few days. I am super happy with my Cosmo, despite the few quirks it has, and I see the bright side of this - no more excuses to finally give Linux a try on my Cosmo :)
I will do some more testing, if I fail, I will try a factory reset, and see if it works under Android again, then I will try Linux, in either case.
Cheers

Great, mine now seems to be doing the same thing again. Been working fine for months after the repair, then suddenly yesterday I can't hear anyone unless they're on speaker.
Trying reboots, etc. but i'm not going anywhere near a device/factory reset yet. If that happens i'm convinced i'll be moving to another device. As good as I find the keyboard (despite it's quirks, and I do use it a lot), everything else seems to be letting the side down.
Can't find my original post yet, so thought would update here first.

My Cosmo also developed similar symptoms. Sigh, maybe it's time for second warranty trip...

Any fix for this other then sending back to planet? Mine has stoped working for few months now.

Same issues here, thought its due to V15, but downgrading didnt help! What a pity, i just had months were everything worked <sigh>

Started the New Year with the same issue as you folks. I'll try a factory reset, but don't have much hope.
Edit: as expected, factory reset did not fix problem.

Just adding another occurrence of this problem, starting 2-3 weeks ago.

My Cosmo is now booked in for service, but have been advised that due to lockdown please not to send it yet.
Which is fine, I still need to move my data to another device.
But they have confirmed it is covered thankfully.

I had the same issue, factory reset did not help, had to send it to PC. Had to buy a new phone in the meantime, because it took over a month to get it back repaired. I have no idea what went wrong and how they did the repair.
Now I have to re-install all my apps etc. - which is a real pain. I did not find an easy way to restore my device.
:-(

With V19, you can use Custom TWRP to backup and restore only the DATA partition(Internal storage). So, I use V19 for this purpose.

To me, they said its not covered, because mail arrived one month out of one year warranty :-( ... 70 Euros ...

Mine has already been repaired for this issue, so I may be in a new warranty period. Not sent it yet, only just cleared it of data so need to get in touch and make sure I can send it..

Hello. But tell me please, what exactly is the problem? I have the same symptoms, but i don't want to send it to the manufacturer for repair. I'd better it to the service center here. So i want to know what is broken there (or soldered, or something else

Mine's started doing this as well. So is the consensus that it needs to be sent in for repair?
Did anyone get told what it is?

Received word yesterday that mine has now been repaired & is on it's way back to me. 2nd time with same fault, but both under warranty.
I let Planet support know in Jan that the issue had reoccured (actually happened late Nov), but due to Covid & clearing my device down that took an extra few weeks. My suggestion, make them aware asap even if you need some time to clear it before sending. You have to wipe it before it goes, as it will come back blank.
Not planning on using it as my primary device when it comes back, aiming for Linux only I think (when I find some time..)

Cosmo received back just now. All seems to be okay, was nice to get it back quickly.
