Hello,
how is it possible to compile a new kernel for the SL-5500?
What do I need?
- Old source code
- Crosscompiler
Do I need anything else?
Greetings and thanks
Rene

If you'd like to compile a new, recent Linux kernel, your best bet is to get in touch with greguu who has ported the 5.0 kernel for newer Zauruses. I believe some custom code will have to be written to specifically support the 5500, but I might be mistaken.
Thanksfully, the sa1100 (5500's CPU) is still supported by Linux, I believe the folks over the Linux Kernel Mailing List will be interested in hearing that there's still someone interested in supporting these CPUs:
