Title: Managing File Dependencies from the OZ Poodle Feed - Howto?
Post by: catachresis on April 29, 2004, 05:47:49 am
Sorry, I debated putting this in the Newbie thread.

I\'m deleting the Sharp Rom from my 5600 and installing 3.3.6pre1.  What I want to do is install a basic, full-featured system that allows for document authoring and PIM with KO/PI.  I understand that this will entail installing OPIE, all the files for which are available in the Experimental Poodle Feed:

http://www.openzaurus.org/official/experim...4.18-gcc3/ipks/ (http://www.openzaurus.org/official/experimental/collie/3.3.6-pre1-2.4.18-gcc3/ipks/)

I\'m not yet familiar with basic linux procedures, but I\'m learning.  I understand that I will need to use the developer tools to reconfigure the Sharp apps from the install disk for OZ.  The question is, before that, to get the OZ system/OS installed with OPIE, how do I pick from the IPKs available in the Feed to ensure that the system is fully installed?  How will I be informed of file dependencies and missing IPKs during  the install process?

I\'ve looked at \"Upgrading Opie on OpenZaurus 3.2\" and I wonder whether effecient use of the Feed will require prior successful configuration of the Zaurus for internet sharing on my Win pc?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
