Title: Playing media from NFS mount
Post by: undrwater on April 30, 2004, 11:00:41 am
I apologize if this has been dealt with before, I did some searching and couldn\'t come up with anything.

I\'ve mounted my music server\'s directory via nfs, but none of the media players i\'ve yet tried will play the mounted mp3\'s/ogg\'s.

Has anyone used a media player that will play from an NFS mount...and did it require any special tweaking?

BTW, i\'m using an SL5500

Well I haven\'t tried it in a while, but it used to work on my SL-5500 running standard Sharp ROM, and XMMS (v3).

I think your real limitation is a player that can navigate the file system, and the \"build in\" one doesn\'t (it assumes my 500MB I have on the Zaurus is one BIG FLAT file system

I hope this helps,

Craig...

You could try mplayer from command line as well. It\'s the way it works for me...
