Title: Importing Mozilla address book?
Post by: LXLibrarian on November 12, 2003, 04:44:18 pm
Hi all - this is my first post, and I\'m a complete Zaurus newbie, so please bear with me. Bear with me also if this is not the correct forum for this question!

I have a *ton* of addresses in my Mozilla email client. I\'d love to export them to my Zaurus SL5500. I\'m running the default Sharp ROM that shipped with the PDA - 2.3.7, plus Qtopia 1.5. My Mozilla version is 1.2.1.

In Mozilla, I can choose to export the address file as comma or tab delimited, or as an *.ldif file. Will any of these work and if so, how do I go about importing the file to my Z?

Thanks in advance -
Barbara

I\'ve been looking for the same answer for a while and can\'t find anything. How about a different question: Does anyone know where I can find the specs on how the contact info in stored in the Z? ROM 3.1 uses some sort of database, right? I\'ll keep looking.....

Same problem, and anyone think about sincronization with mozilla calendar?
Calendar is a quite good plug in, compatible with ical fro Apple; does anyone know how to sincronize?

Thanks

Ok, I haven\'t seen anything on this lately so I\'ll ask again:

Anyone have a way to sync or even import/export with Mozilla mail? It needs to be something that doesn\'t involve Outlook.

KO/PI uses the ics file format and in theory you should be able to share a common ics file and \"sync\". KO/PI currently supports sync via ssh. However, I keep getting sync failure when I try to sync with the mozilla ics file. I\'ve posted this issue on the KO/PI forum, hopefully this will be resolved in future releases.

1)buy a palm. 2)sync your palm with the mozilla adress book. 3)sync your palm again, but with the palm desktop.4)tell the zaurus syncer thing to sync with palm desktop.5)enjoy your contacts.
this is very expensive (unless you have a palm), but i think its the only way. unless you could somehow get them into outlook.

From where I\'m sitting, I haven\'t been able to get my Z to sync at all. I\'m trying to see if I can crack the data issue, too. All my data is in organiser and all I really want to do is a 1-time sync. I\'ve tried installing Palm desktop and Outlook, with abject failure in both cases.

it is *sopposed* to sync with palm desktop, how ever you might wan\'t to try ROM 3.10 as it has the best syncing. (my zaurus wouldn\'t even sync in rom 2.x)
