Title: How to turn off the zaurus LCD?

Anybody know of any console commands that can do this?  Want to conserve power when listening to music with xmms.

Openzaurus provides the option to disable the lcd. There you can setup the time, for example disable lcd after 30 seconds. Also xmms works quite usable under openzaurus. You canreach this setup under settings -] light & power

The Sharp ROMs have this command to turn off the LCD:

qcop QPE/System \'setBlankLCD(int)\' 1

Cancel turns the screen back on again.

On the Cxx0 machines - close the lid
That tuns off the LCD, although Tumnus\'s qcop command also works.

I was going to attach the lcdswitchapplet_1.0_arm.ipk but I can\'t find one on my hard drive and the link is dead.

Could someone please post a good link or attach the ipk here? I would like to have a copy myself.

It works.

It shows an extraction of some files error on install from package installer, but it works fine on 5500 with sharp rom v3.13 and 5600 with sharp rom v1.32

Personally I replaced /usr/bin/apm with my own script, got the source for blnking the screen form the sharps websit compilled it snd setup in such a way that I all have to do when listing to music with xmms is just hit the power buttion, and it turns the screen on and off(only under xmms :wink: ).

oz, but it should work under the sharp rom the only catch is you have to reflash.

Just having Dr. Z Blind installed messes up opie-mediaplayer2 (even if it\'s not even enabled) and when opie-mediaplayer2 switches songs, the backlight comes on... qpe-brightness-applet looked like the best solution, but crashes Opie as soon as I click on it - and lcdswitch just doesn\'t seem to work at all (installs ok, but when I click on the applet it does nothing)

Using OZ 3.2 on an SL-5500
