Does anyone have pocket workstation working , if so how do you get permission.as in\"# Don\'t forget the \'p\' switch, or you\'ll get wrong permission. I can\'t gnu-tar zaurus-debian.
-
Where are you untaring to? Is ext2 or vfat? Vfat doesn\'t support permissions.
I would be usefull if you gave the command you are trying and the error message you get - otherwise we are just guessing on what your problem really is.
My guess is
A) you are trying to untar to a vfat formatted SD/CF card
you are forgetting the p swithch (ala tar -xvzpf zaurus-debian.tar.gz) without the p is untars all the files with the current users perms.
C) gnu-tar is not executable - try chmod +x gnu-tar to force the executable flag on
Sorry can\'t help anymore than that without more info
