Title: Silly little Stylus nugget of info for C7X0 and C860.
Post by: Omicron on May 10, 2004, 08:31:35 pm
The Best Stylus for C860 (and all C7X0 I would assume) is the Tungsten-T Stylus with a Once around thin sheet of clear packing tape (making it like 1 mm thicker).  Then use a file or sandpaper and file off about 1/4 inch off the plastic handle.  (You can cut this off, but will most likly show the unsightly metal rod tip in the center).

The Tape make the stylus thicker and is invisible unless you are looking for it....it has the effect of making the stylus require a \"slight\" tug to release it....no more lost Tungsten-T stylus.

The file down make it so that you don\'t inadvertantly extend the stulus to its full length (it teloscopes) and possibley losing it.. Filing it even with edge of Zaurii will work perfect becuase all you need to do is Press it and \"bingo\" the top springs out about 3/4 inch making it easy yo grab and pull out.

This is really newbie stuff, but the tungsten-T stylus is a really nice 99% metal unit and needs no mods for 5500/5600 (although I still would use a sprig of tape for thickness.

The plastic ultra-cheap C860 stylus is the biggest joke I have ever seen.  But new users, fear not...the best of the stylus world awaits your making.  And with a pack of three you got room to perfect your style (less  )

Welcome to my lame-est post...but it HAD to be said somewhere.

I agree with you, but never lost any, and I\'m still using the first of the pack. I\'m very happy with it!

I bought a 3 in 1 with pen and stuff, and like the original stylus it broke on the tip. (Maybe too much playing around with screw...unscrew...screw...unscrew...  )

Cheers!

Not a lame post at all, IMHO.  I just recently lost a tungsten-t stylus at work one day last week.  I must have been flailing my arms about with my 760 in one hand.  That wasn\'t the first time the stylus had \"lept\" out of the Z, it\'s just the first time I didn\'t hear the stylus hit a wall or the floor.  So the idea to use tape to make it a bit thicker is a good one for me.  I had a spare tungsten-t stylus, so it wasn\'t all that bad.  Now I just need to figure out why I\'m flailing about at work...  :?

instead of doing all that goto
http://shop.brando.com.hk/pdairtungstentstylus.php (http://shop.brando.com.hk/pdairtungstentstylus.php)
they have a tungsent T pen stylist.  it is slightly bigger than the original tugesent stylist so u don\'t have to worry about it falling out, and the best part is u get a pen with it, i love it.

the only complaint about the stylist is the telescoping is not as smooth as the original T stylist, but i can live with it
