Post by: Anonymous on May 16, 2004, 02:18:23 am
I am hearing it is a good idea to wait for the sl 6000w because the 6000w has some kind of different internet....

that site says that its 802.11b as it is...

Should I wait or not?

The one that you have seen on that page is the SL-6000L, which is already being sold, with WiFi 802.11b.
The SL-6000W has bluetooth in addition, but nobody knows when/if will be available any time in US.
Not even the manuals have passed through FCC yet.

Bluetooth is another kind of wireless networking, suited to connect to mobile phones, PCs, but even printers and digital cameras, usually within the range of 10 meters / 30 feet.
However, even if not integrated as in the Sl-6000W, you can still add a Bluetooth compact flash card to achieve the same result.
