Title: Themes on the C series
Post by: padishah_emperor on May 16, 2004, 10:05:46 pm: I\'m looking through the posts under \'Themes, Icons and Backgrounds\' and am surprised to find a severe lack of eyecandy.

Is no-one doing themes anymore?

I had tons of themes and ZStyle etc to make my 5500 look the bees knees, but they don\'t work with my C860 (with Cacko QT 1.21A)

Anyone know where I can find the goods? zaurusthemes seems fossilised and for the 5x00 machines, the ZUG theme downloads seem the same, even a bundle of themes ported to the C series does sweet nothings on my Z.

Help! Qtopia is becoming bland! I need eyecandy!!!

Where did you get them? I tried pdaXrom but the stock screens were a real turn-off.

Hmm? dunno.. there was a thread somewhere sometime :->

I grabbed a bunch of 640x480 images from here and there (digital blashpemy?)
and I use holidayflo640 (fluorescence6 is the same in blue?)

The one in the upper left is gant -- I also went and found the full gant icon set (it's huge).

Post by: padishah_emperor on July 02, 2004, 01:29:38 pm: I should have clarified it a bit but I was referring to QT ROMs and the Cacko QT ROM in particular. The pack of old themes DO work but symlinks need to be make from the pics directory where they are stored to pics144.

As for more eyecandy, you guys are just gonna have chew your lips and be patient, but I'm working on it

Post by: dz on July 04, 2004, 11:54:45 am: I'd be willing to work with someone to build a website to store Zaurus themes. Something like themes.freshmeat.net, except mainly built for Zaurus users.

I've done websites for more than long enough, so I'd mainly need someone to design the look of the site and someone to organize and gather all the themes to start the site off. I can do all the coding.

Post by: padishah_emperor on July 07, 2004, 12:28:05 pm: Myself et al will be publishing themes etc on a site in the next few weeks (or so), the URL will be made public then. One contributor, who is not a forum person, has done some very original stuff, mainly abstracts and rasta stuff and I'll be making that available too.

I've got some working QT themes right now, but I cannot publish them just yet but all will be revealed in the fullness of time

If someone can point me in the right direction to generate ipks, that would be nice and I may need a 6000 user to test stuff at some point, we can't leave our brick loving friends out

The QT titlebar theme I was working on came to a halt, when I destroyed my installation, requiring a reflash, but I went over to pdaXrom and I doubt I'll be doing anything more with Qtopia for a while.

I can't remember the name of the guy who put it together originally, but I am now maintaining the site. I have yet to do anything to change it because my focus has been on the zug lately. But I'm sure with a little work, it could be a great repository for this stuff.

any thoughts?

Why not merge it into the ZUG site, so it's all under one roof. I sort of gave up on that site because it seemed like there was little activity, haven't checked it out in a while though.

Post by: abegaza on July 29, 2005, 05:03:28 am: has anyone tried porting the opie "appearance" app to the sharp rom? would this be possible? that thing was amazing for the 5500 (i never tried OZ on my c750 or c1000). anyway, i would love to see that app on the sharp rom, it provides a lot of personalization.
