I have a CF Wifi and SD Wifi. The SD Wifi doesn\'t work on Zaurus (darn the SDIO patents, etc). The CF Wifi DOES work fine, but at work they are using a proprietary Cisco wireless system. *Gag*
So... I\'m in the market for a CHEAP Ethernet option for my Zaurus (Other than the USB connection to a Windows XP machine... I want the Zaurus to be able to work on its own). I don\'t want to spend much money on it because I don\'t think I\'ll be needing it long (my contract is up in 2 months), and after that I assume everything will be Wifi!
I know of 3 options that are available to me:
Which options have you gotten to work? What are the pro\'s and con\'s of each?
Thanks in advance!

The CF card is probably the simplest solution. I don\'t think they are terribly expensive.
The USB solution could work, but would be awkward because you need either a 6000 or a USB host card, and would still drivers.

I\'m also looking for the same thing - wired ethernet.
Ethernet -] CF are rather cheap, but I had a look for Ethernet PCMCIA cards and most of them were either CARDBUS or didn\'t specify.
I\'d be tempted by a CF ethernet card but over here in Blighty they\'re rather dear. I\'d also be grateful for any suggestions.

I found a socket CF low power ethernet card w/ dongle on ebay for $24.99.
I like it, because at work we can\'t use wireless due to \"security reasons,\" so I can hook to home or work and just rebroadcast for DHCP each time I connect.

I use a Buffalo LPC-CF-CLT on my c860 and I do not like it. At first it was appealing because it was a single small card with no dongle to lose with a flip up adapter. Picture here: http://buffalo.melcoinc.co.jp/products/cat...m/l/lpc-cf-clt/ (http://buffalo.melcoinc.co.jp/products/catalog/item/l/lpc-cf-clt/)
After using it I do not like how the buffalo sticks out making it hard to type. A dongle connection may or may not be better.
Another issue I have with the buffalo is that it is 10 mbit only. Some switches that I have connected to support 100 mbit only or 100/1000 only (it is usually a configuration issue that I have no control over).
I have yet to use it except for test and prefer Bluetooth or WiFi NAT through my Thinkpad. I also carry a small cheap WiFi bridge with me. I can plug in any Ethernet switch port and WiFi to it. APC has a new one that is very small and can be powered by USB as well.

TrendNet TE-CF100, about $30. I use it when I\'m away on business trips & also when I need a network diagnostic tool at work.

Price sounds good, where would you recommend buying one of these? - it\'ll need to be shipped to the UK.

Keep an eye on eBay. I picked up a bundle of 4 Socket Low Power CF ethernet cards for about US$20. They are excellent cards and worked right out of the box on all roms I\'ve tried.
