Title: Problems after tkcrom flash
Post by: neth on May 20, 2004, 05:03:59 pm
Hi there,

I just flashed my c860 from pdaxrom to tkcrom (got it from the download section here), but now i\'ve got a few problems.

1) It seems that it\'s still the pdaxrom kernel (pdaxrom logo is shown while booting).

2) Somethings going wrong when starting the gui. I see the splash screen (tap anywhere to continue) and then the calibration window shows up. As far as good, but i can\'t calibrate the screen. I\'m tapping the crosshair and it\'s moving after each click as it\'s supposed to. After going to all four edges an then in the middle of the screen it simply starts at the lower-left corner again.

Cause the calibration screens is in front of the gui, i can\'t do anything, i can\'t even get a shell.

Someone any idea what i can do against this? I\'m thinking about flashing the cacko rom hoping it will fix this problem.

Another question which is perhaps related to this problem: Why isn\'t there a tools.tar for the tkcrom? I only put the update.sh und initrd.bin to the root of my sd card and it flashed okay.

Thanks for your help,
neth

I know the qtopia rom kernel and the pdax rom kernel are not compable with ethch other.  So my guess is you do still have the pdaxrom kernel on you Z.  Try flashing the default kernel.

Don\'t know sorry.  You might want to look at the dual booting pdaxrom theard. Thay might have a link.  Thats where I lerend that the pdaxrom kernel and any qtopia kernel are not compable.

Get the kernel out of the cacko rom - it\'s in the tools.tar file. You\'re probably better off going with Cacko as Proto has disappeared and the feed with all the apps for tkc Rom has gone from the net.

Tkc hasn\'t been worked on since Christmas - the cacko rom is under development and the authors can be gound here to answer questions
