Hi
Everything seems to be pretty dated on CF GPS card info that works on the 5600. Would greatly appreciate any info on cards that will work other than the Ambicom.
Thanks

I have the Haicom 303 MMF thanks to zbones\' advise. about 6 months ago, you could get it for ~$150.
Here\'s the link to our thread: http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...ighlight=haicom (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1092&highlight=haicom)
Here\'s a link to see the device:
http://www.ja-gps.com.au/gps-haicom.html (http://www.ja-gps.com.au/gps-haicom.html)
It works plug-n-play with the 5500 along with qpegps and the zroadmap gps software.
The good thing about it is, unlike the ambicom, it will fold over the back of the z, and that allows you to angle so that it\'s pointing skywards. Also, and importantly, you can buy a serial adapter for the zaurus and connect to it via the serial cable that comes with it. That is very handy for having the gps device on your backpack or on your dashboard while using your zaurus.
Hope that helps!

Wow, that\'s sound awesome. Will give it a look-see.
Thanks

Curious, I found the Haicom 303E for $100.00 dollars at http://store.yahoo.com/semsons-inc/haicmulgpsre1.html (http://store.yahoo.com/semsons-inc/haicmulgpsre1.html)
Will that work as well?

I see the difference as the 303e has the Evermore Chipset, which I never seen before, and no idea if it is compatable.

They review some models of the Haicom GPS CF on www.pdabuyersguide.com FYI--

Thanks!
I went ahead and purchased the Haicom 303 MMF, as I do like how it folds back. Will let you know how it goes. Now I am exploring the zGPS and gpeGPS. Anyone have experience with zGPS and it\'s maps?

Luckily, OffRoadGeek copied down all of the following from the old devnet board:
https://www.oesf.org/commu...dmap/index.html (https://www.oesf.org/community/66.180.235.230/projects/zroadmap/index.html)
That gives you all the programs and maps you\'ll need.
As a note, zRoadMap relies on gpsd. I couldn\'t find a version of gpsd that was compiled for the zaurus except the version that comes with qpegps. So, I\'ve always installed both programs and when I want to use gps, I start with qpegps, then launch zroadmap when I have gpsd up and I\'ve obtained a signal.
As a note, one of the drawbacks to the zaurus is that none of these programs can give good directions to you. They can tell you where you are, what street is coming up as you drive, etc., but can\'t provide you with a \"best way from a to z\".

Great! Will give it a test drive

Just a update. The Haicom 303 MMF works so far, but had to do this from another post on this site
1. Install gpsd. (It is in the qpegps download site)
2. Insert card in cf slot
3. cardctl resume
4. gpsd -p /dev/ttyS3 -s 4800
5. run zroadmap or qpegps
But zroadmap gives me a error. Gpsd is working. The error is \"An error occured while the s\" , cant see what is after the s. Any ideas?
