www.audiocubes.com have it for $685, and shipping is cheap.
-
Obviously, that sort of depends on whether or not you\'re particularly risk averse. I\'ve seen people here and on eBay have some problems with their zaurus c-760/860 (1/4 of screen no longer viewable, screen no longer lit, etc.). If any of that stuff happens, you willl of course suddenly wish you bought from Dynamism, as I don\'t think support from Japan is easily obtained.
That\'s what you have to weigh in your decision.

I bought my C860 from Dynamism a few months ago. Their Warranty was one of the things that gave me the guts to buy the device at the price. My backlight has been gradually getting harder & harder to keep alive. I know the C860 will sooner or later have to be sent back to Sharp Japan.
I will tell you what I think the Dynamism warranty & the cost is worth after I have finished dealing with the problem. But, right now, the little peace of mind that it brings me feels *really* good <G>.

I purchsed 2 through dynamism and a few friends have purchsed through them.
One friend had to send his beloved Z back -- don\'t be fooled -- you have to
send to dynmism and then they will send to japan -- but not overnighted, even
if you volunteer to pay. (please verify) ...
so, you don\'t just get 2 day service to japan + fix and 2 day service back. I think
it may take 2 weeks or so, but you will get your device back.
Is that worth it to you for an extra $100?!
your call.

Hi Josh
Pending on what Scott says, I\'d advise getting one with warranty, I\'m in the UK, got mine from ShirtPocket, any problems it goes back to them, if they cannot fix it, it goes to Japan, I pay only the shipping. It gives some security, worth it for such a lovely machine. Once again I agree with Bob ;-)
When you do get one, you\'ll love it ;-)

Ditto here, too. I bought mine from Dynamism, after debating whether I should get one from eBay or another vendor w/o warranty, and with input from several people on ZUG who have had problems with their C-series Zs, went with the warranty.

What sort of problems?

Most were display related - part of the display going out or the display not functioning when flipped, etc.

he says 1k $0 to him.
better than I thought... I guess he just missed it every day :-)

For what it\'s worth, we have never had any units back with a display problem yet.
You do get the odd dead pixel, but that is not covered by warranty, and is not really noticable unless you get obsesive and start looking for them... Not had anyone complain about it yet.
Most common problems are unit either failing to boot or charge.
Not an official figure as such, but units sold is in treble figures and returns in double figures so I\'d guess at say 10-15% returns. Though I would guess a significant portion of those are due to ROM tampering going wrong.
-
my friends 760... was failing to charge.
I think I may have 1 bad pixel on my 700 or 760, but it\'s not \"dead\" ... just kind of lighter than the
black -- but when a color is on the pixel, it seems to work.

Does www.shirtpocket.co.uk ship to the US?
-
Can do, but you may as well get a local supply from Dynamism if available.
Price is probably about the same allowing for shipping etc.
We do have to be quite fussy with international transactins, due to number of purchase attempts we have from people using stolen cards.

How does your warinty compare to dynamism.com\'s. And also what would be the full price includeing shiping to illinois USA. And also if I do need to send it back to sharp japon do I have to pay shiping?
JP
P.S. This is for the sl-c860 or the sl-c750

I have heard that japanese support is fine from USA....you just need to send it in with warranty and reciept ...a little tough with the translation , but not an insurmountable task.
I hardly think 1 year of warranty that is alreayd available is worth the extra $200 (approx)....NOW IF IT WERE A 2 OR 3 YER WARRANTY, THEN IT WOULD BE WORTH IT, BUT AS IT IS THEY ARE JUST MIDDLEMEN DOING exactly WHAT YOU CAN DO, OR SO i HAVE HEARD.
