Is there any way in which you can change the matchbox default window manager theme?
-
You mean create one, add a new one or run an application to change the theme dynamically?
-
I don\'t particularily want to create one - I would just like to change the window border to something a little more aethetically pleasing (as with xfce4). If this means a little bit of hacking then fair enough although an automated process would be preferable
-
ok, i think i know what you are meaning, you don\'t want matchbox themes, you want OpenBox themes. Google it a bit and see if you can find something on it, i would assume it would be close to how Fluxbox does themes.

You can download theme IPKs from the pdaXrom feed.
If you download one and open it up, you will see the structure of the package.
It is nothing more than a series of png icons stored in /usr/share.

shrubbery, if you want to know all things about Matchbox, here is the web site:
http://matchbox.handhelds.org/ (http://matchbox.handhelds.org/)
Creating themes or using themes are explained there too.

Note that as hinted by omin0us the default wm used by the pdaxrom is openbox and not matchbox-wm
so for windows borders and titles you\'d better go to
http://icculus.org/openbox/ (http://icculus.org/openbox/) .
The panel and the desktop are the ones of matchbox.

http://icculus.org/openbox/obconf/ (http://icculus.org/openbox/obconf/) if you want to play with the pdaXrom cross-compiler

Right... I\'ve changed the default openbox theme and downloaded some more and tried them too. Much better - thanks for all of the advice.
One thing that I was thinking though - I use openbox for my window manager and ROX for my desktop - why do I need matchbox (as I believe that ROX also comes with a panel , or I could just use something like fbpanel). Would it be possible to get rid of mathbox and would this make any tangable difference to the speed of my C860? or am I barking up completely the wrong tree?
