Title: Kismet: Can\'t connect to the server
Post by: Swifthawk on May 26, 2004, 10:28:27 am
I\'ve installed libpcap, kismet 3.10c and kismet_qt on my c860 with the sharp stockrom, using the how-to\'s and manuals on this forum. When I fire up Kismet (with root priviliges) it says: \"Can\'t connect to server\".

I\'ve tried changing configuration settings and so on, but to no avail. Any suggestions how I get this working?

You need to run kismet_server first I think.

I never got kismet 3.10 to work, but 3.01 worked fine for me.

I\'ve got it running with the prism2_legacy drivers. Thanx for your help.

One thing is you might need to modify the \"kismet\" script to wait slightly longer for the server to start up (depends on card and what else it is doing).  Sometimes it takes several seconds before it opens the 2501 port for the clients.
