just got my flashy C860!! however conics site which has a step by step english conversion guide is gone..cant access it anymore..anyone has a backup of that guide?
-
another question, is it neccessary to charge the C860 for 24Hr for the first time? or is 4HR enough? I am using the 5500 charger as I cannot use the default C860 100HZ charger
-
I was told 16 hours. But the 5500 charger has a higher amperage, so the orange light went out sooner than that. I also find trickle charge from USB never fully charges
-
do u mean the usb sync cable can charge th C860? does the AC adaptor need to be connected to the usb sync cable as shown in the manual?
-
There is a third party USB cable that will trickle charge the Z as well. The supplied sync cable does not charge without the charger.
The AC charger will work directly into the Z. You do not have use the sync cable.
English roms and flash instructions are available here on the Zaurus user group site. My guess would be for you to try the cacko rom for the 860.

Yes, I bought one from shirtpocket.co.uk
It was about £8. Well worth it.

The reason you need to charge the 5500 for 24 hours is to charge the internal battery that keeps the data on the 5500 while it is powered off. The Cxx0 series use flash storage and don\'t have this internal battery - so they don\'t need 24 hours charging
