Title: How to get midi playback working? Timidity patches?
Post by: cmisip on June 04, 2004, 01:02:24 am
I have sdl-mixer installed as well as xu4.  I dont have midi playback though.  xu4 is looking for a timidity.cfg.  Upon reading more about this, the docs seem to require a timidity patch.  Anybody know how I can get midi playback working on the zaurus?

Thanks.

I\'ll do better than that.  I will share that and everything else that I have done with my zaurus.

Have a look here.  http://cmisip.home.insightbb.com/zaurus.htm (http://cmisip.home.insightbb.com/zaurus.htm)

If you are only interested in midi playback, just go to the bottom of the page.   This will work with prboom also.  Playing doom with the midi background music adds a whole new dimension to gameplay (If i can just figure out how to open the door).    The xu4 midi music is catching though.  After a while, it will play over and over in your mind.

bring up the menu, select options, then choose setup, then key bindings

on the first screen select a suitable key for the 'use' function.

run up to the door and hit this key.

I use the - key on my c760 as it is next to the space bar which I use for fire.

Right. . Well THAT link is down as well...

Anybody who knows how to do this, please tell me. . . I have 250 odd Final Fantasy MIDI track that I want to play, and no way to play them.

After configuring this, will Sharp mediaPlayer (Which lists the files but won't play them) Then be able to play them?
