Title: [C860 Sharp Rom] prism2 module and monitor mode
Post by: cowcow on June 09, 2004, 10:38:05 am
From reading the forum, I understand the original sharp rom has only prism2 module, which does not support monitor mode and mac addr changing.

I\'ve also google\'d and found this url
http://digilander.libero.it/c700/wlan-ng_1.15.html (http://digilander.libero.it/c700/wlan-ng_1.15.html)

which will replace the original modules and wlan* executables so as to support monitor mode. (need to remount /dev/root as rw I think.)

Have any one tried this with their default sharp ROM? Will  Kismet and Wellenreiter II work after making these changes?

PS: I\'m one of those that still want to stick with original Sharp rom

TIA!

I managed to install the modules/files from http://digilander.libero.it/c700/wlan-ng_1.15.html (http://digilander.libero.it/c700/wlan-ng_1.15.html)
did a reboot, my d-link card was recognised, however, i could not get the network up connection to my Wireless router.
the problem was traced to
/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng start wlan0
when it call
wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid=\"myssid\" authtype=\"opensystem\"
it reported

resultcode=no_value

instead of success

anyone know why?
