Title: TIP : Best audio encoding for portable players/Zaurus
Post by: xedx on June 15, 2004, 01:03:07 am
Recently I have been encoding my CDs with oggenc -q2 found it crappy tried -q3.
Then I remembered the listening test http://www.rjamorim.com/test/multiformat12...28/results.html (http://www.rjamorim.com/test/multiformat128/results.html)  in which a modified libvorbis won first place.
Apparently it was tweaked for <=-q4 so I thought I was using -q2 -q3 why not try it out.
Compared my old -q3 encodes with aotuv -q3 encodes. The tweaked libvorbis/oggenc produces smaller sizes plus better quality. what a treat!
