I\'ve been using my SL5500 very hapily for several months now. I\'ve installed many apps & themes, all of which I thought were for the Sharp 3.x ROMs.
However, I\'ve just seen in System Info that the Kernel is reported as 2.4.6-rmk-np2-embedix, Compiled by: SHARP, ROM version 2.35.
Do I need to upgrade? If I do, can I upgrade via SD or USB as I use my CF card for Wi-Fi?
Thanks in advance.

To upgrade you need to put the ospack file from sharp onto a CF storage card, It is not possible to flash from SD, USB, or over the network.
I\'ve moved to the Sharp 3.x rom for stability and compatibility, When I first got my Zaurus it was with the 3x Rom but I decided I wanted to try OZ and TKCRom.

thanks John, guess an upgrade will have to wait until I can convince the wife that it is necesary
BTW what size CF card will I need for most ROM updates?

A 32MB card is enough but with prices the way they are... 128 is only about $12 more? I have been using the v3.13 rom (somewhat altered to install apps to the SD Card) since a few days after it hit the board with little or no trouble.
Best of Luck
